Semiotics

One of my friends from undergrad visited in September and we started talking about my very early thesis ideas and we spent a few minutes trying to remember the term “semiotics.” I think that the meanings behind signs and symbols are so ingrained in our existence but also so arbitrary and abstract. Semiotics could be something to look into for my thesis, but it also seems so very abstract that looking into it could just lead to extreme frustration.
